Eligibility

For the 2011-2012 school year, children applying to the nursery program must be three years old on or before September 1, 2011. Children applying to the pre-kindergarten program must be four years old on or before September 1, 2011.

Application Process

Parents can request an application by calling the school at any time after Labor Day for the following school year.  At this time we do not email applications nor can we accept email requests.  Upon receipt of the completed application, the Playschool contacts the parents to arrange an appointment for a joint visit with the child.  While we strongly encourage both parents to visit the school, we are aware that scheduling conflicts arise which sometimes prevent this.  Notification of acceptance is made via letter in accordance with the admission guideline dates provided by the Independent School Association of Greater New York.

Tuition Assistance

An established financial aid program allows the Playschool to provide scholarship monies to qualifying families.  Our aim is to enroll children who reflect the socio-economic diversity of New York City.  Eligibility for financial aid and the amount awarded is based on a family’s demonstrated need.

Sibling Policy

The Playschool accepts all siblings of children who have attended our school for at least two years.  The parents of siblings will be invited to attend admissions tours with their child.  Parents of siblings are asked to fill out an application during the spring before Labor Day so that we can determine the number of spaces that will be available to new families.
